Probably the most controversial album, being the first Opeth release with ‘clean’ vocals, and without the death vocals, much to the chagrin of fans. With Steve Wilson producing, this album explored new sounds in Opeth’s move towards a more progressive sound. Doomsayers lament on the detah growls being required, I say this album is a brilliant explorative journey and worthy in my collection of Opeth albums.
